Shifting into a New Gear

When a finely tuned automobile takes to the streets, people take notice. As you see it driving by, you appreciate its quality and the way it effortlessly makes its way down the road.
 
People can be the same way. Take the leadership of local icons like Steve Minino.
 
Those who have had a chance to know and work with Steve appreciate the way he works hard behind the scenes to lighten the load for others and help his clients get to the closing table with less stress.
 
Five years ago, Real Producers magazine had the chance to sit down with Steve and tell his story — a snapshot in time of where things stood for him in 2018.
 
Recently, we were honored to once again spend time with Steve to share his success with the rest of the local REALTOR® community.
 
There have been many successful chapters for Steve through the last few years. And that has definitely continued. When we talked with him in 2018, Steve was a leader with Keller Williams. Recently, Steve took the next step in his career and formed his own brokerage, Empire Group Nebraska, in February. He leads the new brokerage that’s located in Olde Town Elkhorn with his partners — his wife, Jenny, and Jim Marriott Jr.
 
“We had a great experience with Keller Williams from 2016 to 2023, and then this opportunity came up,” Steve says. “It felt like the time was right. I was able to do it and excited to do it and made the move in February.”
 
The growth of the team of professionals at Empire Group Nebraska has been tremendous in a short time. In fact, after starting with four individuals in February, the group has grown to 17. This latest chapter is a continuation of a story of belief … of knowing that when you do the right things consistently through time, good things happen.
 
“It’s exciting. I’ve always believed that I need to go all-in on myself and others will join. I have had great opportunities and that has prepared me to make this move,” Steve explains.
 
“We call ourselves a ‘teamerage’ rather than a brokerage. We all work collaboratively together. One of the important things that I believe is one of our strengths is knowing how to run the business side. Plus, we also focus a ton on culture and vision. We do a lot of training and a ton of coaching. It’s about being the REALTORS® we want to be. The members of our group are in alignment with that.”
 
Some of the parts of Steve’s approach to business that have remained rock-solid since 2018 and before is his love for the profession and giving back.
 
“The best thing is every day is different. There are days onsite when I’m coaching and training and I see these new young agents and the lightbulb comes on,” Steve says with a smile. “I love helping agents write their first contracts and being involved with the process.”
