Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family!
I grew up moving around the country as I was a military brat, and then I married a Navy man! My husband, Ramon, received orders to San Antonio in 2010. We lived in Rogers Ranch for three years and then moved to The Canyons in 2013 when there were only six other homes occupied in the community! We have enjoyed watching the community grow and know it well. We walk (or some may say, STROLL) it every morning with our Bernedoodle, Winston.
Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now.
I spent years in corporate sales developing companies and then my passion for helping people led me to develop a large senior care company on the East Coast. When my husband and I moved to San Antonio, we didn’t have the best real estate experience, and I wanted to improve that process for others. I began as a real estate agent with JBGoodwin REALTORS®. Early in my career, as a military wife, daughter, and sister, I was proud to assist JBGoodwin REALTORS® and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World with the development of the U.S. Military on the Move program, a program built to better serve our veterans with their real estate needs.
As my real estate career progressed, I was consistently recognized as one of the city’s Platinum Top 50 REALTORS® as well as one of the Top 20 Luxury REALTORS® in the city. Over the last decade, I transitioned from an agent, to the Sales Manager, VP, and now President of JBGoodwin REALTORS®. Driven by a passion to improve our industry as a whole, last year I was named Platinum Top 50 REALTORS® Real Estate Executive of the Year and the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® Manager of the Year.
How Do You See Your Role and Mission with JBGoodwin?
Along with selling real estate as an active REALTOR®, I manage my team of nearly 400 agents who are industry leaders in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Our company mission statement is “To Help People,” and I am proud to lead a group of agents who really put people first. Our company culture has led to more five-star reviews on Google than any other real estate brokerage in our market, and last year JBGoodwin was named the number-one Top Workplace among all midsized companies in San Antonio and the number-three Top Workplace in the nation! We have also listed and sold more homes in The Canyons than any other brokerage.
In addition to my efforts to grow the business and inspire our agent partners, it is always a goal of mine and JBGoodwin REALTORS® to support our community. Tell Us More About Your Community Involvement and Recent Philanthropic Activities.
In the past year, our team raised funds for Wounded Warriors as one of the leading corporate sponsors of the Carry Forward 5K, we were the largest corporate sponsor in South Texas at the Susan G. Komen More than Pink 5K, we supported foster children in need through the Care-E-All Kids backpack drive, we wielded hammers and power tools to build homes for our community with Habitat for Humanity, we saved dozens of lives through our annual Halloween Blood Drive, we raised (literally) tons of food and thousands of dollars to support the SA Food Bank through our Annual Chili Cook-Off, we organized several donation drives to support veterans and those fighting cancer in our community, we supported young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and we brought holiday cheer to over 100 seniors in need at Living Days Adult Daycare Center. Success in real estate means striving to be an integral part of our community. It means helping as many of our neighbors as possible.
Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to the residents?
I hope our neighbors feel free to call me any time! Whether they are considering buying or selling, curious what they can build as an investment portfolio, have questions about their property taxes or need a referral for reliable contractors, I hope to be their resource. Frankly, these days a lot of my calls are just to ask what is happening with this crazy, ever-changing market! I love those phone calls and welcome them any day and will be happy to describe to you why I feel confident our San Antonio real estate market will continue to thrive for many years to come. I just delivered a national presentation at the National Association or REALTORS® annual conference to provide insights as to why that is the case.
