Patrick Rayl

Rising Star: // a person who is quickly becoming successful, setting trends, and gaining the respect of top-performing professionals. \\

I have had the pleasure of watching Patrick’s young career since the beginning. His dedication to continuous learning, new technology, and innovative business strategies is only part of the reason he has become so successful in real estate. The main reason behind his success? His character. Patrick has always been a person of high character and someone that is highly respected in all areas of life. This “Rising Star” is more like a shooting star, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
- Nick Chapman, Publisher

I recruited Patrick in 2018 to be my personal assistant. While learning all aspects of the business for the next two years, Patrick quickly took in all the knowledge he possibly could. Patrick worked side by side with me in every aspect of the business. Patrick was extremely dedicated and eager to use this opportunity to bridge the gap into full-time sales, and man did he. Patrick's level of dedication to being the best for his clients is outstanding. I'm most proud of Patrick's integrity, which he displays and lives by with his clients. It is no surprise that this rising star is becoming a top producer in our market. Keep up the great work!
- Eddie Mylar, Broker

I met Patrick for the first time back in 2019 at a REALTOR® event at Riviera Golf Course. Being new to the business myself, I didn’t know very many people. Patrick introduced himself and was very kind to me. We reconvened together in the summer of 2020 once I came to work for Prime Lending, and we began to work with each other regularly. Patrick is a guy of the highest character. As a lender, you want to work with someone who compliments you, and I feel Patrick is that guy. He’s trustworthy, kind, and takes pride in his work, and it shows. I’m proud not only to call him a colleague but to call him a friend. I’m excited for his future and can’t wait to see how far he goes!

Get to know Patrick:
How long have you been a REALTOR®?
Four years this September

What was your motivation for starting your real estate career?
My stepdad Eddie Mylar offered me an opportunity to work as his assistant so that I wouldn't have to travel for work when my son was born. He showed me the business, and I immediately fell in love with it.

What did you do before becoming a REALTOR®?
I was an academic recruiter for Marshall University. I was mainly in charge of recruiting the state of Ohio for any students who wanted to go to Marshall.

What has been the most rewarding part of having a real estate business?
I love it when you help a first-time homebuyer and you make the process easier than they were expecting. To see their faces when they get the keys to their first home fuels you through some of the tougher moments.

How does real estate fit into your personal lifestyle goals and dreams?
Being able to set my schedule was a huge selling point. I always wanted the opportunity to run my own business and help people at the same time, and being a REALTOR® offers you the ability to do that.

What are you passionate about right now in your business?
Serving my clients and giving them the best possible service and help I can. I love it when I hear from clients that the process was easier than they thought it would be but that they still couldn't do it without your help or guidance.

Define success.
Success is the ability to look back at everything you do and still be proud of what you have accomplished. This business has some very rough moments that can drain you. It’s finding the great moments and ways that you have helped people that fill up your soul.

Tell us about your family.
I married Sarita in 2014. We had been college sweethearts and dated for five years before getting married. In 2018, we had our first child, Silas, who made our lives even better. In 2021 we had our daughter, Keziah, who truly completed our family. I also work with my stepdad Eddie Mylar and have always had some great encouragement from my dad John Rayl and mom Julie Mylar.

Pets? Hobbies? What do you love?
We have a dog named Ci-Ci. I love to play anything competitive, even weird sports. I play adult kickball on Sundays, which has been a wonderful place to network. I play wiffleball any chance that I get. My family and I go to Kingdom Life Church in Nitro, where I help with the media and broadcasting services. I love board games with friends and family.

All-time favorite books and/or movies?
I have so many favorite movies. Recently, I absolutely loved the new Top Gun movie. Having kids, you become forced to watch a ton of Disney movies, and right now, Encanto is always on at least once a week. I haven't had a chance to read as much. I do make it a priority to read to my son every night, so I get some enjoyment out of his books. He is big into space, and one of my favorites is Dr. Suess's There's No Place Like Space.

Are there any charities or organizations you are passionate about? Why?
I look for any way to help people in the Huntington community through serving on the board of the Kiwanis Daycare, being a part of the Kiwanis Club of Huntington and helping by sponsoring different organizations in Huntington. I think it is important that you make an impact in your local community.

Favorite part of being a REALTOR®?
It’s the relationships you build with everyone in real estate. You meet some great people who are REALTORS®, and you work alongside them constantly. Many understand the struggles of the job and will lend an ear when you need someone to talk to. Working and being friends with Lenders and workers at title companies are also a huge benefit because they will always help you understand other portions of the business to make you an even better REALTOR®.
