Born and raised in Austin, Krissy Kratch watched it change from what it was to the popular place it is today. She attended Texas State for four years and enjoyed her job at Nordstrom as a manager for selling designer clothes.

 

“I loved it,” smiles Krissy. However, she realized it wasn’t conducive to starting a family. “I can’t wear five-inch heels my whole life, work every Christmas, and have a family. I was burnt out and exhausted.”

 

Looking for the next chapter of life, Krissy started leasing apartments for a few years. That led her to real estate. “I started selling real estate in 2013,” she says.

 

The road wasn’t easy. “I started cold calling as an inside sales representative for expired and withdrawn listings. It was very stressful and I made maybe $20,000 a year.” She then met her good friend Julie at Capital Title, who really encouraged her in her career. She told me, “You can do this. You’ve got this and you’re going to have a success story.”

 

After switching brokerages to Reilly REALTORS®, Krissy found the camaraderie that she wanted. “We became family and loved each other, cheering each other on,” she says. “It was not about one person in particular winning; we can all win.”

 

Reilly REALTORS® then merged with Realty Austin, and Krissy really advanced her career there and now has chosen the global brokerage of Compass to soar even further in the coming years.  She comments, “I just got my broker’s license last July.” She also landed a multi-million-dollar development deal that she is currently working on.  “It’s located in the most beautiful part of Hill Country with a phenomenal builder that does impeccable work,” she says. Not to mention the views.

 

“Real estate is a really fun business and I’m now focusing on building a team of like-minded hustlers. I’m even considering learning more about the commercial side. It’s been a fun bumpy journey, but I don’t see myself doing anything else. I love what I do. I’m always excited to learn about new things, new strategies, and be creative to serve my clients the best possible way,” she says.

 

 

Krissy, who trains two agents below her, enjoys mentoring others.

 

“I am the mentor who loves mentoring,” she explains. “I like helping them learn the business. When I started out, I had nobody and I was so confused and nervous. I want to help others blossom into their best professional selves, and bring them on the team as I see fit if it suits my personality.”

 

 

Krissy is a hustling single Mom to two adorable children, Truth (5 years old) and Kienle (3 years old). “They keep me going, they are the pilot light to my fire. I want to show them they can achieve whatever they work hard for, and I hope I can be an inspiration for their career goals.”

 

Truth is very active and loves any sport he can attend with a friend, he has so much energy but also loves to be creative just like his Mom. Kienle loves to go to “dance party,” also known as dance class where she gets to soak up the hour with her favorite little friend. Krissy secretly hopes one day she enjoys gymnastics, the sport Krissy did most of her life through college but only time will tell.

 

Krissy Kratch is making homeowners’ dreams come true in Austin. She absolutely loves showing people around her hometown and allowing them to fall in love with Austin just as she has and continues to do as it grows and changes. “There’s nothing more special than knowing I helped them start a new chapter in life in one of the best cities in the world,” she says.

 Gone are the days of wearing five-inch heels and selling designer clothes. Her days of selling homes and helping people put down roots here in Austin are here to stay. This Rising Star loves what she does and she can’t imagine a better career with her personality, the passion behind it, and giving her kids a legacy to remember.
