Chatting with an "Old" Friend

Chatting with Leron was like instantly felt like connecting with a close, ‘old’ friend because she is so warm and friendly.

She was born and raised in Tenafly to an Israeli mother and an Iranian father and has three siblings, two of whom reside in Miami and one in Deal. Her father arrived in the U.S from Iran, at age sixteen. His older siblings were already living here, so he worked odd jobs in New York to help pay the bills. A few years later, he moved to Israel, opened a clothing store and met his future wife. Following their honeymoon in the U.S, they emigrated to New York and her business savvy father started to manufacture gold jewelry, achieving great success with it. However, Leron recalled frequently overhearing the word ‘building’ in his conversations and realized that his real love was real estate investments!! So, in the late ‘90s, he left the world of jewelry and immersed himself fully in real estate. Her stay-at-home mom was a hard worker with a go-getter mentality and a powerful sense of intuition. This made her the family’s go-to consultant whenever anyone was in ‘big decision-making mode’ vis-à-vis Life and business issues. She was also the one who helped coach Leron in the art of creative networking and deal-making.
After living in Englewood for a while, Leron returned to Tenafly four years ago. Raising her children in her hometown is a source of delight as well as comfort to her as it enables her to relive some of the joys of her childhood. There are, nonetheless, also bitter-sweet moments of nostalgia such as when she goes into a store called Healthway Natural Foods which is now managed by the daughter of the original owner who was killed in a car accident.
Leron is the proud mother of three children – a 15-year old son, 14-year old daughter and a 91/2 year old son – who attend school in Tenafly. Her firstborn loves playing ice hockey, building things and gaming. He is empathetic, caring and sociable and wishes to pursue a career in child psychology. Her daughter plays soccer, runs track, loves baking and is a highly conscientious and motivated individual! Her younger son enjoys soccer and chess, has already developed a soft spot for gaming and is socially savvy beyond his years. Lyla, their 4-year old black mini poodle (a COVID acquisition!) is cute, smart, sweet and sassy and displays impressive insight into each family member’s personality, moods and needs!!
After graduating from NYU with a degree in Psychology, Leron worked with her father in his jewelry business for eight years until the birth of her second child, Julia, when the commute became too difficult. And so, in 2014, she got her real estate license and started working as a residential realtor for Sotheby’s in Fort Lee. She enjoyed marketing luxury homes and learned a lot from her mentor, Richard Katze, about how to network effectively. From 2020-2021, she took a break from real estate and worked as a Director at the JCC in Tenafly and then in a marketing role at Camp Kimama - an international network of summer camps.
Two years later she returned to real estate, knowing that these two positions had furnished her with many connections in the community as well as marketing skills which would enhance her ability to expand her real estate network. Given the current reality – a difficult housing market due to very low inventory – she has had to make herculean networking efforts in ‘her’ territory which includes Alpine, Demarest, Englewood, Fort Lee and Paramus. She enjoys playing ‘matchmaker for homes’ and derives great satisfaction from the relationships she establishes with her clients during and post sales.
She is equally dedicated to being the best possible mother to her children. She prioritizes being available to pick them up from school, give them dinner and interact with them; and, when necessary, will rejiggle her schedule to ensure she can do so. She notes happily that her children are also always interested in hearing about her work and rooting for her success.
Downtime is in short supply, but exercising is a passion and her early morning sessions with her personal trainer set her up for a productive day. Lifting weights is her thing, although hot yoga has now also been incorporated into the mix. About 11/2 years ago, she also started journaling as she finds it therapeutic.  “It gets me to the raw emotion in a more authentic way. You see a common thread and it helps you eliminate stuff that is not good for you and work on personal challenges.” Miami is ‘home away from home’ – where she and her children unwind and spend quality time with her parents and sisters.
She bravely manages to deal with the unpredictability of our world by focusing on spiritual growth and feeling gratitude for all she has. She acknowledges that things can change in a minute and that all we can do is try to think positively and never give up.
