Agnes Bowman is a Broker Associate and Senior Real Estate Specialist with Keller Williams Park Views Realty. She has been a full-time residential and commercial real estate agent for over 25 years. She is the Team Leader of Team Agnes.

 

Her husband has been a huge part of her business – he is her security guard to go to empty houses, sign guy to install For Sale/Sold signs, Uber driver during the inclement weather, her personal consultant, marketing director, critic (he provides the most constructive criticism that she can rely on and to the benefit of her business) and a shoulder to lean on, ear to vent... she could not achieve half of the things, if it was not for him.

She has three grown children who are in finance, technology and property management. She has one grandbaby, and her name is Emma. She just turned 5 and is in Pre-K4. She is the most energetic and intelligent child Agnes has ever known. Her intelligence level is shooting towards astronaut physicist level. She has a photographic memory going back to when she was 2 years old. Her perception and comprehension level are that of a 15-year-old girl. She can dance and sing like a rock star! Agnes cannot imagine when she gets to clubbing age:). She absolutely loves her, and it grows as fast as she grows.

Agnes is a product of an immigration family. Her parents brought her and her siblings from South Korea many decades ago. She has worked since she was 16 years old to help her parents to pay the bills. She gave her paycheck to her dad every week and he gave her lunch and gas money. She does not think any of her kids would ever think to do that. All jokes aside, this country was and continues to be built by the immigrants like her family and herself, helping each other, working hard, respecting your parents, abiding by the rules, and loving one another.

When her kids were young, her husband worked two jobs so she could stay home to raise the children. They were poor and could not afford to go on fancy trips, but they were happy to have each other and eat together at the dinner table every night. She could not thank her husband enough for all his hard work without any wimpy complaints. He just plowed through until their kids became older and she went back to work to carrying some of his burden. She is so grateful for him being the man of the house and especially for being her man.

Agnes’ family likes to cook, eat, dance, and sing at every BBQ. Each family member makes their special dish. She likes to unwind by having a glass of wine or two and binge-watching movies/shows. She likes to read thriller novels and loves playing golf, watching golf, and planning her next golf trip. Did we say she loves golf?

Agnes and her family love Long Beach Island, NJ. She would love to check out the Mediterranean area when things (war, terrorism, growing hatred and intolerance) subside. There is so much history, interesting places, amazing food... she would love to mingle with local people and taste their food.

Agnes became a Realtor to bring extra income while raising small kids, being a Realtor was the most flexible job he could find. After 25 years or so in the business, real estate has become second nature. She loves her job - meeting many different kinds of people, sharing their life story and food, being a part of their journey in buying or selling their properties, and especially their first home!!!

She started with Weichert Realtors. She wishes Keller Williams Realty were around that time. It would have been a short cut to making more money while learning to build more business. She is so glad KW found her 7 years ago.

Agnes is the team leader of Team Agnes. She has a team member - Jeanine Salazar - and the team’s executive marketing assistant - Aleks Ramos. She is now in the process of interviewing potential additional team members.

As a woman, wife, mom, daughter, sister, neighbor, volunteer, and a friend who make you feel complete and wholesome, Agnes is uniquely qualified for the real estate business. She can offer pros and cons of their home search and/or selling their home so people can make an informed decision. She believes that transparency is especially important to all clients, both buyers and sellers (although it is rare and hard to come by in this business).

The best part of being a Realtor is that she gets to be a part of her client’s life journey, selling their homes that were in the family for many years or buying their first or next home. It is a great feeling to be a part of the closing process (the seller gets the check and the new owner gets the key, and of course, I get to pick up the commission check). Everyone is happy and moving on to the next journey of their lives.

The downside of realty for Agnes is when people are dishonest or greedy or when people say one thing and do another.

Agnes’ motto is to be upfront and transparent about the Pros and Cons with her clients. She feels that real estate is marathon and pyramid. You need to do the right thing and the building blocks keep piling up. When she started in this business, she was the only realtor who was not born or raised in town. She was clearly an outsider. Regardless of that label, she kept doing the right thing for her clients and they became her biggest fans. Agnes focuses her business on Bergen and Hudson counties as well as Passaic, Essex, Morris and Union Counties.

Agnes’ most memorable sale was about 3 years ago. This amazing house was sitting on the mountain top with panoramic views of NYC, Bergen, and Passaic Counties. The property had a gate that opened to a massive landscaping adorned by roaming deer families, an inground pool, Koi Pond, cabana, playground, and storage shed that surrounds main part of the 3-story house. Each floor had a 360-degree view of mountains and valleys. The property was stunning with its breathtaking views, beautiful home and landscaping. She wishes them all the best!

Agnes volunteers as a team leader of Kings Kitchen, who does food shopping, prepares food and delivers food to homebound senior citizens every weekend. This is a non-profit and strictly volunteer organization founded by one of the local church members. Since the passing of the founder, Agnes has been working as “temporary” leader while they find someone to fill in. Well, it has been over 25 years, and she is still waiting for the "Fill-In". She can only hope it is on the horizon because she would like to pick up her golf game. Agens also supports Catholic Charity Relief because most of the money donated goes to the NEEDY and not to administration. She is blessed with many things in life and giving back to the community is the least thing that she could give back. Her volunteering and charitable experiences have been amazing because it elevates your spirit in general. Giving back is good as going to the closing table.
