Rich Kim: Real Brokerage

Rich Kim is a REALTOR® and the leader of The Rich Kim Group, a dedicated team at Real Brokerage.  With over six years’ experience as a REALTOR®, Rich has risen quickly and been recognized as being in the top 1.5% of all real estate agents in the country.

Rich’s spouse, Michelle, works as an analyst at the Department of Education. They met during college and were married on September 30, 2016. Michelle plays a huge role in helping him manage both family and career. She is incredibly supportive and always finds ways to keep their household running smoothly, even when work gets busy. Having a partner like her makes it possible for Rich to focus on his real estate business, knowing that she is there to help with our children and other family responsibilities.

The Kim’s have a 17-month-old daughter named Mila. She is full of energy and adores the swings and slides at the park. She also enjoys playing with her stuffed animals, trying new foods, and reading books together. Mila's personality is bright and curious, always exploring and learning. They are expecting another daughter in October and are excited to see Mila become a big sister. This new addition to their family brings even more joy and anticipation for the future.

Michelle and Rich have a dog named Max, a 7-year-old Jindo mix rescued from Korean K9 Rescue about two years ago. He is a lively and energetic companion who brings joy to their family. His favorite activities include long walks and playing fetch. It is fun to watch him slowly bond with their daughter, Mila, as they grow up together. Although Rich did not grow up with pets, he has come to appreciate the companionship they offer. They are grateful to have rescued Max and given him a loving forever home.

On weekends the Kim’s like to have family movie nights and enjoy snacks together. Also, reading bedtime stories to Mila. They value spending time together and creating lasting memories through these simple, but meaningful activities.

Family plays a significant role in Rich’s life, and he values the support and encouragement they provide. He focuses on creating new family traditions and building lasting connections with his loved ones.

While everyone faces personal struggles, Rich prefers to focus on how he has overcome challenges rather than dwell on them. There have been times in his life when he faced obstacles, whether in his career or personal life, but he believes in staying resilient and finding solutions. These experiences have shaped his approach to real estate and his dedication to helping others. They have made him more adaptable and better equipped to navigate the ups and downs that come with any journey.

To unwind, Rich enjoys playing basketball and golf. It is a great way to stay active and clear his mind while keeping him connected with my family and friends. He also likes spending time with his family, going for walks, and watching movies with them. These activities help him relax and recharge, providing a break from the hustle and bustle of work.

The Kim’s enjoy traveling, and one of their favorite spots to visit is Hawaii. It is a beautiful location with stunning beaches, great weather, and a relaxed atmosphere. The scenery is breathtaking, and there is so much to do, from hiking to snorkeling. They love exploring new destinations and trying different activities during their travels. Each trip is an opportunity to experience something new and create lasting memories with their family.

Balancing home life and work requires careful planning and open communication between spouses. Rich makes it a point to have weekly check-ins with his wife to ensure they are on the same page. This way, they can address any upcoming commitments or events, helping them stay organized and reduce stress. Advanced planning is key. He sets aside time for family activities and makes sure his work schedule allows for flexibility. This approach keeps him focused on his career while ensuring he does not miss important moments with his family.

Rich became a REALTOR® at the beginning of 2017, so he has been in the real estate business for over six years. His journey started at an independent brokerage, and since then, he has continued to grow and expand his career in this dynamic industry. He decided to become a REALTOR® because he wanted to help people find their dream homes and achieve their real estate goals. The industry allows him to combine his passion for sales and customer service with his love for meeting new people. Rich’s career trajectory has been diverse, shaped by a series of experiences across various industries. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a hospitality degree, he embarked on a journey that took him through roles in hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs, where he developed strong customer service and management skills. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to a startup called PureLink, a professional audio-video manufacturing company. This role exposed him to different departments within the company, providing him with valuable opportunities for growth and development. It was during his time at PureLink that he decided to pursue an opportunity in real estate. Drawn to the dynamic nature of the industry and the potential for personal and professional growth, he took a chance and embarked on a new career path. Since then, his journey in real estate has been marked by continuous learning, adaptability, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to his clients. Each step along the way has contributed to his development as a REALTOR®, equipping him with the skills and experiences needed to thrive in this competitive field.

One of the most memorable experiences he has had in real estate was during his first million-dollar transaction during his early career. Negotiating the final price was quite an adventure, and it ended up being a unique and memorable outcome. After going back and forth with the buyer and seller, we reached a standstill. Then, in a moment of spontaneous inspiration, he proposed a final price of $1,234,567.89. It was a bit unconventional, but it injected some humor and lightheartedness into the negotiation process. Surprisingly, both the buyer and seller found the proposal amusing and agreed to it without hesitation. The listing agent and Rich shared some laughs together. The transaction not only closed successfully but also left a lasting impression on everyone involved. It is a reminder that real estate transactions do not always have to be serious and formal – sometimes, a little creativity and humor can go a long way in reaching a mutually satisfying resolution.

As the team continues to grow, one of their upcoming initiatives is to volunteer and participate in charity work to give back to the community. This commitment aligns with their values and reflects their dedication to making a positive impact as they expand our presence. They look forward to contributing to meaningful causes and strengthening their connections within the community through these efforts.

Rich recently started attending a new church, and plans to assist in the near future, as he has done in the past. His involvement allows him to connect with others who share similar values and beliefs, providing him with a sense of fulfillment and spiritual enrichment. Helping at his place of worship is not only a way for him to give back to my community but also a way for him to deepen his faith and strengthen his connection with others.

One fun way he contributes is by purchasing a bulk of Girl Scout cookies yearly to support their fundraising efforts. Supporting organizations like the Boy and Girl Scouts allows him to give back to the community while also fostering youth development and leadership skills, which are values he strongly believes in. Rich is actively involved in giving back to both local and national organizations as part of his commitment to making a positive impact in the community. One organization he recently joined is the Young Professionals Network (YPN). YPN works with various charity organizations, allowing him to contribute his time and resources to meaningful causes.

Rich’s mom was an inspiring role model when it came to giving back and showing kindness to others. She taught him the importance of empathy, compassion, and generosity through her actions and words. From volunteering in our community to helping those in need, she led by example and instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility towards others. Her kindness and generosity continue to inspire him to this day, and he strives to continue her legacy by making a positive difference in the lives of others. Giving back brings him a profound sense of fulfillment and joy. Knowing that he has made a positive impact in someone else's life, no matter how small, fills Rich with a deep sense of purpose and satisfaction. Whether it is through volunteering, supporting charitable organizations, or simply lending a helping hand to those in need, the act of giving back allows him to connect with others and contribute to the greater good. It is a humbling experience that reminds him of the importance of kindness, compassion, and making a difference in the world.
