Stephanie Biederman

Driven by Experience, Guided by Empathy

For Stephanie Biederman, her career encompasses a culmination of personal experiences and a deep understanding of what “home” means. Raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie grew up in a family where hard work and education were paramount. “Having four daughters, our mother  pointedly encouraged all of us to become educated, to have careers, and to be strong women,” she recalls. That guidance shaped Stephanie into the dedicated, solution-driven REALTOR® she is today.

Stephanie's journey into real estate wasn’t straightforward. She started her professional life in corporate sales, working as a major national account manager in the technology industry. “Building relationships was the foundation of my success,” she explains.

Despite being proud of that success, over time, balancing a corporate career with a growing family became increasingly difficult. “There were school activities I couldn’t attend because of my work schedule. I needed more flexibility,” she explains. It was the need for control over her time that led her to real estate—a field where she could apply her sales expertise while creating a business that fit her family’s lifestyle.

In 2005, Stephanie officially transitioned into real estate, a move that felt natural after her years of investing in apartment buildings with her husband, Eric. She leveraged her knowledge from their investment ventures and dove headfirst into Chicago’s residential market. “I wanted a career where not only my business skills but also my life experiences could help my clients,” she says.

And help them she does—whether it's navigating first-time home purchases or assisting families with finding a home and neighborhood that truly fits their lifestyle, Stephanie's personal journey informs every decision she makes.

Of course, her path hasn't been without its challenges. Just as her career was gaining momentum, the Great Recession hit. “It was a tough market for buyers and sellers—many were underwater, and jobs were scarce,” she recalls. “But I learned the importance of being adaptable. You have to take each day as it comes, and you have to stay nimble to counsel your clients effectively.”

Her resilience paid off. While many REALTORS® left the business during this time, Stephanie remained steady, continuing to support her clients through one of the most difficult real estate markets in history.

Today, Stephanie’s passion lies in helping clients find homes that meet their ever-changing needs. “I’ve gone through many of the life stages that many of my clients are now in, such as buying a condo as a single woman, purchasing a house after marriage, and now, we’re preparing to downsize as our youngest heads to college,” she shares. It’s this empathy and firsthand experience that sets Stephanie apart. “The most rewarding part of my job is feeling like I’m truly helping people,” she affirms.

Stephanie also thrives in partnership. She works alongside Cindy Wilson in the C+L Group, a collaboration built on mutual respect and complementary skills. Stephanie and Cindy met almost twenty years ago during new agent training and have supported each other ever since. Their dynamic partnership allows them to offer clients a wealth of knowledge and market insight.

Outside of work, family is central to Stephanie’s life. Married for twenty-six years to Eric, a Chicago firefighter, they’ve raised three children—Kyra, Gregory, and Lola—in the Lakeview neighborhood. “[Having] Family dinners is our favorite thing to do together,” she says, smiling. “Eric is an amazing cook, and with our older two out of college and busy with their lives, it’s our way of reconnecting.”

Stephanie also has a passion for supporting her local community. She serves as the president of the Board of Directors for the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, and her business has been a member of the chamber for over fifteen years. “I believe in small business,” she asserts. “Local shops are the key to keeping our communities thriving. My husband and I have lived in Lakeview for over twenty-five years, and we have raised our three children, who attended public schools, here. The neighborhood community is everything.”

Looking ahead, Stephanie remains committed to helping her clients achieve their homeownership dreams while balancing her own family’s evolving needs. Whether she’s helping her oldest daughter buy her first home or advising clients on their next big step, Stephanie brings the same level of care and attention to each decision. “Success for me is all-encompassing: career, family, and self-care. Every part requires nurturing.”

As she continues to grow her business and support her clients, Stephanie remains focused on what truly matters: helping people achieve their home goals while creating lasting relationships along the way.
