How many years have you been a REALTOR®? 18
What awards have you achieved as a REALTOR®?
The Highly Coveted Global Quality Service Pinnacle Producer award 2017-current. I pride myself on being the highest rated Agent in the CDA area on realtor.com.
Tell us about your hometown and family, and what you appreciate about living and working in the Inland Northwest.
I was born and adopted in Kansas in 1972. I relocated to Rathdrum, Idaho in the 2nd grade. There, I grew up very much off the grid and quickly, as I had adult responsibilities placed upon me at very young age with helping raise my siblings and helping tend to our family farm. My life experiences growing up defiantly influenced and helped shape my ability to problem solve as a REALTOR®.
After graduating, I moved into Coeur d'Alene and began working in the financial industry. I meet my amazing husband, Matt Harmon in 1993. We spent and still spend our free time traveling, playing on the water, and spending time with the people that we love the most, especially our two beautiful children, Hunter, our son who is 25, and Hali, our daughter that just turned 23. There is no better place to raise a family and work than the Coeur d’Alene area and PNW.
What motivated you to pursue a career as a REALTOR®?
After the agent that I was assisting went inactive back in 2007, I went out on my own with encouragement from my husband Matt in 2008. It was THE BEST thing that I ever could have done for my career and self-growth.
What was the biggest challenge you faced when starting out in the real estate industry?
When I went out on my own back in 2008, it was a very challenging time in the real estate industry for those that experienced it. You know, nothing was selling! It was a very humbling experience for me personally. My hard work finally paid off with my first sale at $99,000 in 2008. From that point on, I was addicted to helping others in achieving home ownership, building relationships with lifelong clients, and challenging myself with overcoming anxiety and self-doubt.
Describe the key factors that contributed to your professional journey, including your educational background, career influences, and role models.
I feel in order to grow personally you have to be selfless, support your fellow agents by celebrating their successes, and staying humble with your own accomplishments. Keeping current with the changing trends in our local and national real estate market is a must!
When you're not showing or selling homes, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with my amazing and supportive family, it is my number one priority. My husband Matt, my son and my partner in real estate Hunter, his girlfriend Sarah, my daughter Hali, and her boyfriend Coleton spend pretty much every weekend hanging out together. In the summer months, we love boating, jet skiing, razring, and late-night campfires. In the fall and winter months you can find us watching football (we are super fans of The Pittsburgh Steelers and plan to attend 3+ games in their upcoming 2023-24 season), bowling, and vacationing to our favorite destination, Puerto Vallarta. We are looking forward to spending more time in Puerto Vallarta once our family’s oceanfront condo is completed in the winter 2023.
If you could start your real estate career over, what would you do differently and why?
I honestly would not change a thing.
How does real estate fit into your dreams and goals?
Selling real estate has been nothing short of a blessing for me and my family as it offers financial freedom and most importantly the freedom to spend time enjoying family, friends, and doing the things that make my heart full.
Are you involved in any non-profit or charitable organizations?
I am proud to be part of “Agents with a Heart of Gold,” which is a group of amazing Century 21 Beutler & Associate agents that contribute commissions throughout the year to an account and at the end of the year we collectively decide which local charity we are going to donate to. Each year it is different. In years past, my family has enjoyed ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, and we love supporting Safe Passage Violence Prevention Center.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Do not take things personally. Give the compliment to that person you are thinking of. It might just change their day. Always try to have a smile on your face, they are contagious.
If you had to choose just one, what's been the most rewarding home closing experience you've had?
Helping a single mother out by finding her and her son the perfect home after years of searching, and contributing to her closing cost.
What's the best and worst purchase you've ever made?
The worst would probably be anything that I purchased from "As Seen on TV,"… and the best purchase would have to be our current home. It is my and my family's sanctuary.
What was your first car as a new real estate agent?
My dream car, which was a white 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT. I still have it and love it.
What's a business goal you want to achieve in 2023?
To close on my largest sale in my career, which I achieved in May 2023.
What do you want to be remembered for in your career?
For being kind, honest, hardworking, and generous to my clients, and to all the professionals involved in every transaction of mine.
