Euan Graham
Living the American Dream
Euan Graham’s journey in real estate is a classic tale of perseverance, hard work, and an unyielding belief in the American dream. As an immigrant from Scotland, Euan arrived in the United States with little more than his determination and a strong work ethic. Today, he stands as a testament to what can be achieved when these qualities are combined with a passion for helping others.
Euan’s story begins in Scotland, where he earned a degree in sports science and worked in pharmaceutical sales. However, it was his move to the United States that marked the start of a new chapter. In 2004, Euan relocated to Denver with his wife at the time. “We met when I was in San Diego after university and got married just a year later. We lived in Scotland for two years and I just knew we’d end up in America. And I was excited about that because I knew I had the drive and the determination to succeed in a country like America,” Euan recalls.
Euan sold pharmaceuticals in Scotland before moving to the U.S. in 2008. His first job in America was selling yellow-page ads. “It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me the importance of building relationships,” Euan recalls.
These early experiences laid the groundwork for his real estate career. His success in yellow page sales came from his ability to form genuine connections with business owners and do the right thing for them, a skill that would later become a cornerstone of his real estate business. “I realized that if you take care of people and build strong relationships, success will follow,” he explains. And after years of creating a successful referral-based business, Euan sensed it was time for something different.
While at a networking meeting, Euan connected with a REALTOR® who convinced him to enter real estate. Euan recalls the moment he was encouraged to enter real estate. “My eyes kind of lit up. And I said, “Well, look, I’m in America. I believe it's a land of opportunity. I’m always open to opportunities.’”
In 2010, Euan made the leap into real estate. With a newborn at home and no steady income, he quit his job and studied for his real estate license. “We had no money, but I just jumped in with both feet. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I was determined to make it work,” Euan says.
The early days were tough. Euan drove a beat-up car, wore the same oversized suit every day, and hustled to sell foreclosed homes in a market still reeling from the 2008 financial crisis. But his hard work paid off. In his first year, he sold 36 homes and earned the title of Rookie of the Year for the Denver Metro Association of Realtors. “I had no idea that was a big deal. I just thought everyone was doing that,” Euan laughs. Years later, his career path would lead him to serve as the Chairman for DMAR 2019-2020, through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Euan’s approach to real estate has always been about more than just transactions. He believes in the power of relationships and has built his business almost entirely on referrals. His Scottish heritage also played a role in his success. Euan often used his accent and background as conversation starters, even wearing his kilt to closings to add a personal touch.
After years of grinding, Euan realized he needed a change. In 2023, he joined milehimodern, a brokerage that aligned with his commitment to excellence. “I wanted to be with a company that does everything at the highest level, and milehimodern was the perfect fit,” Euan says. “Everyone here is pulling in the same direction. It’s not just about individual success; it’s about helping each other and doing things the right way,” he explains.
Today, Euan is a single father to two children, Isla and Finlay. While his career has brought him success, he’s also focused on being present for his kids. “One of my regrets is not being as present when they were younger. Now, I’m really working on being there for them, spending quality time and making sure they know they’re the most important thing in my life,” he says.
Euan also remains passionate about giving back. Inspired by his mother, who has multiple sclerosis, he is determined to support the MS Society and other charitable causes. “Real estate has given me everything, and I want to give back,” he states.
As he continues to grow his business and mentor other agents, Euan is also exploring new ventures. He’s launching a podcast called “The Immigrant Story,” where he will interview first-generation immigrants who have found success in America. “Real estate is great, but my passion is sharing the immigrant story and helping others realize the incredible opportunities this country offers,” Euan explains.
