Melissa Fogler

Living the Life in Real Estate

Spanning over two decades and a family history of real estate success, Melissa Fogler’s career in real estate is marked by dedication, a passion for helping people, and a deep-rooted commitment to her community. As a REALTOR® with REAL Brokerage, Melissa's success is a testament to her strong work ethic, ability to persevere, and genuine love for connecting with people.

Melissa’s path into real estate began immediately after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado. She was mostly influenced by her father, a successful REALTOR® whom she always looked up to. Wanting to follow in his footsteps, she joined him in the business in February of 2001.

"My dad has always been extremely social and successful. He can talk to anyone and is very funny. He always tells me how proud he is and that I can do anything I put my mind to. He taught me to stand up for myself and to be the best REALTOR® out there. " Melissa shares. This encouragement, along with the desire to guide people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives, inspired Melissa to get her real estate license.

Melissa also credits her mother for instilling in her a strong work ethic and passion for helping others. “She had a full-time job and took care of us while my dad worked late hours and weekends as a REALTOR®. She’s the most selfless person I know, and is mentally strong,” reflects Melissa.

Driven by her passion for making connections and bringing people together—whether helping sellers navigate the emotional process of selling a family home or assisting buyers in finding their perfect property—Melissa finds immense satisfaction in being part of her clients' journeys. "Meeting incredible people and finding my clients a house where their faces light up when they walk in the door of their dream home is what drives me," she says.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Melissa’s career is witnessing the significant life events of her clients. "I've seen clients through marriages, having babies, empty nesting, and even through divorces and deaths," she explains. “I love helping sellers navigate the hard parts of having to sell a family home or place they lived for many years.”

Despite her success, Melissa acknowledges the challenges that come with the profession, particularly dealing with multiple offers in today’s climate. “Lockboxes can be challenging too,” she notes with laugh.

Whatever hurdles Melissa’s encountered have been far outweighed by the freedom and control that real estate has offered. "Being my own boss, having the ability to work from anywhere, and the endless opportunities for networking and learning are my favorite parts of being a REALTOR®," Melissa states.

That freedom and flexibility was further enhanced for Melissa when she joined REAL Brokerage in July 2022. Melissa has thrived in the collaborative and supportive environment the company offers. "Their motto is 'Work Hard, Be Kind.' Everyone is so helpful, intelligent, and the collaboration is amazing. I feel like I am part of something bigger and always have support," she says.

For aspiring top producers, Melissa’s advice is straightforward: "Be part of a team, ask a lot of questions, be ready to work extremely hard, and soak it all in. You will never stop learning. This is a full-time job, and to be successful, you have to put your career and clients above a lot of free-time activities."

Outside of real estate, Melissa enjoys spending time with her close-knit family, including her mom Robin, dad Jeff, sister Brooke, brother-in-law Zac, and her 20-month-old niece Sloane. They love going out to eat, watching the Nuggets, and taking Sloane to the park. Melissa’s hobbies also include yoga, lifting weights, trying new restaurants, and attending social events. She supports several charities, including the Golden Retriever Rescue and the Denver Children’s Foundation.

For Melissa success is waking up excited to start the day, being financially stable, having the love of friends and family, maintaining good health, and doing what truly makes you happy. “It’s whatever lights you up,” she emphasizes.

At the end of the day, Melissa wants to be remembered for being kind to everyone she meets, treating people as equals, having a deep love for her family and living life in her own way.

"We only have one life,” she concludes. “Live it the way you want!"
