Zahara Bazigos

The Power of Positivity

"Changing my mindset changed my life," says Zahara Bazigos, a rising star in the DuPage County real estate market. Zahara’s journey from healthcare professional to trusted REALTORⓇ is a testament to the power of positivity, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others.

Zahara grew up on the West Side of Chicago, where she cultivated a strong work ethic and an appreciation for uplifting influencers.

“I’ve always admired people who have a positive mindset,” she says, citing Joel Osteen as one of her inspirations. This focus on optimism and growth has defined her personal and professional life.

After attending Northern Illinois University for nursing, and serving patients in the healthcare industry, Zahara realized her passion lay elsewhere. She’d earned her degree but found her true purpose after becoming a mother to Theodore, her young son.

“Motherhood gave me a greater purpose and drive,” Zahara explains. “It pushed me to pursue a career where I could be present for my family while still making an impact.”

Though her journey began in healthcare, a field that allowed her to hone her skills in helping others, Zahara yearned for a career that offered greater flexibility and autonomy. A conversation with a friend in real estate inspired her to explore the industry, and in 2018, she took the leap, earning her real estate license.

“Transitioning from healthcare to real estate was natural for me,” she says. “Both careers require empathy, excellent communication, and a genuine desire to help people.”
As is true for many agents, Zahara’s early days in real estate were challenging. She began with low expectations, selling only a few homes in her first year.

“I had a limited mindset,” Zahara admits. But she soon realized the vast potential you can have in the industry. Determined to succeed, she immersed herself in real estate coaching, attended motivational events, and read extensively to shift her perspective.

“Attending a Tony Robbins event was transformative for me,” she says. “It sharpened my mindset and helped me see the opportunities ahead.”

This shift in thinking, coupled with her growing expertise, transformed Zahara’s career. She now operates as part of the Bazigos Group, a partnership with her husband, Dan. With Dan’s financial services and investing background and Zahara’s personable approach, the two provide a seamless, client-focused experience that has won their clients’ implicit trust.

“The most rewarding part of this business is when clients become friends and refer me to their loved ones,” Zahara shares. “It’s the ultimate compliment.”

Zahara’s success is rooted in her commitment to continuous growth and her ability to connect with people. Her favorite part of the job is the relationships she builds.

“Real estate is more than transactions; it’s about helping people find the right home and creating a lasting connection,” she says. She defines success as earning repeat business and referrals—a testament to her reliability and dedication.

Looking to the future, Zahara is focused on expanding her team as well as enhancing her personal brand—growing her business to reach more clients while maintaining the high level of service she’s known for. Her passion for community and personal development continues to drive her forward.

“I want to be a trusted resource in real estate and an example for others to follow,” Zahara says.

Outside of work, Zahara cherishes time with her family. She and Dan enjoy outdoor activities with their son, Theo, which include visits to the Morton Arboretum and local farm stands. They often bring along their dogs, Chica and Lulu. Zahara’s love for animals and commitment to conservation is evident in her philanthropic efforts.

“I follow a plant-based lifestyle, so I support various charities that focus on animal rescue and conservation,” she shares. “I actually once saved a dog on a listing appointment and found it a new home.” She also supports Hope for Haitians, an organization that provides clean water as well as medical, housing, and educational assistance to those in need in Haiti.

Zahara’s journey is one of resilience, reinvention, and unwavering positivity. From overcoming a limited mindset to building a thriving real estate career alongside her husband, she exemplifies what it means to grow through challenges and embrace opportunities.

“Real estate is more than a job to me,” she reflects. “It’s a chance to make a difference in people’s lives, one home at a time.”

With her sights set on growth and her heart set on service, Zahara is poised to continue shining her light and making her mark in the DuPage County real estate market. Her story is a reminder that with the right mindset and determination, success is always within reach.
