Well-known as “Best Dressed REALTOR®," Terria Galvez has a heart for serving others. With successful careers in the beauty and retail industries, her propensity for marketing and branding, combined with her innate desire to improve others' lives, has seamlessly transferred to real estate.

As the #1 agent in her office for two years in a row, Terria is strongly passionate about building wealth and educating others on the topic. “I’m trying to turn as many clients into investors as possible,” she states. Terria conducts her life and business in a “natural progression,” never forcing anything that doesn’t feel authentic to who she is.

Terria was initially inspired to pursue a career in real estate from watching Real Housewives and Single Ladies, which depicted the fabulous lives of women who wore amazing outfits, showed beautiful homes and created their own schedules. This lifestyle greatly appealed to Terria, and she became a licensed REALTOR® in 2017.

“I had a network of women behind me,” she says, referring to her shift to real estate after freelancing as a makeup artist for six years. From junior proms to weddings, this previous business allowed her to progress in life with her clients, and she continues her long-lasting relationship as a REALTOR®. Her first real estate client was a previous client-bride who immediately messaged Terria after discovering she had gotten her license. As a result of nurturing her client friendships, even past closing time, Terria has been invited to multiple milestone life events, such as baby showers, birthday parties and even a destination wedding in Jamaica. 

As one of 12 children, Terria had a fun-filled childhood with her biological and adopted siblings, getting into and out of trouble. She moved from her home in Boston to help care for her father and has remained in Hampton Roads ever since with no plans of leaving. Terria and her husband, Marcus, have a daughter, son, “daughter-in-love” and beloved grandson, who sparked Terria’s interest in investing.

When Terria’s son, daughter-in-law and grandson moved in, she and Marcus knew they needed to upgrade. They purchased a larger home that better accommodated the family, and they turned their previous home into a rental, which was Terria’s first experience with passive income. She was immediately hooked and has since purchased two more rental properties. “I’m changing the trajectory of people’s lives,” Terria remarks about how she helps her clients achieve home ownership and also teaches them how to establish generational wealth.

Terria’s devotion to her clients results in pleasant surprises. During a recent final walkthrough for a closing, her clients surprised her with a Nothing Bundt Cake for her birthday. “I had presents for them, and here they are giving me presents!” she exclaims. She loves to give personalized closing gifts, particularly Cutco® knives and a luxurious charcuterie board.

 

After working all hours of the day, Terria likes to relax in her recliner, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket with the electric fireplace on and watching her favorite shows, accompanied by her cat, Khaleesi. She recently revamped her backyard, adding an inground pool and turning it into a backyard oasis, perfect for entertaining friends and family.

Grateful for the life she has, Terria is authentically happy and has cultivated a legacy of serving others that impact their lives and also those of their children. She has achieved success in various aspects of her life, and a large part is due to her gift of connecting with others.
