As a Mortgage Provider with the company Modern Lending, Mark, and his business partner Chad Anderson, originate mortgages. Operating in primarily the southeast states, such as Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky, the business has a full team of loan officers, processors, closers, and funders. “We do the whole nine yards!” remarks Mark.

After a successful decade-long career in marketing for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Mark made his debut in mortgage lending in 2015. “I wanted to get into something where I wouldn’t only meet people, but I would have an impact on our community as well,” Mark comments on his career change. He quickly fell in love with the industry, applying his time management skills, work ethic, and drive to serve the community.

 

Mark has been married to his wife Melissa for 8 years now, and they have 2 adorable dogs; a Basset Mix named Lily Anne and a Basset Hound named Paul. Both were athletes in college, Mark playing baseball with Stetson University–where he earned his Degree in Marketing–while Melissa played soccer. One for competition, Mark has transitioned into his sport of choice and is now an “avid golfer”. The couple loves to travel and enjoy relaxing on the beaches of Florida in their free time.

 

Although Mark was born and grew up in Florida, Nashville has a special place in his heart. He has lived here since 2009 and considers himself a local now, calling this place home. His passion for helping others overflows from work into his personal life. He is active in charities, such as Nicks Kids, Ronald McDonald, and Habitat for Humanity, for whom he and Melissa fundraised and built houses.

 

To Mark, success has the ability to play an influential role in someone’s life, helping them grow into who they were meant to be. “I hope that when someone remembers me, that it’s because I’ve bettered their life in some way . . . whether it’s on a smaller scale or a greater scale,” he comments.
