While it was the allure of freedom and limitless potential that first drew Caroline Starr to real estate, it was the opportunity to make a meaningful difference that made her stay. Starting her career during the challenging market of 2010, Caroline quickly rose to the occasion, earning Coldwell Banker’s Rookie of the Year award. Her drive, resilience, and commitment to excellence laid the foundation for a career defined by authenticity, growth, and service.

“I wanted the opportunity to build something great while being the kind of agent I’d want to work with: someone who is committed to excellence,” Caroline shares.

By 2013, Caroline turned her ambitions into action by forming the C Starr Team. Building a cohesive and successful team wasn’t easy, but Caroline approached it with the same intentionality and care that have shaped her career. “Rather than relying on public job postings, I’ve always opted for a more personalized approach, meticulously seeking out individuals with the right skills and personalities to complement our existing team dynamic,” she explains. 

By thoughtfully crafting roles and fostering a collaborative environment, Caroline has built a team that not only functions effectively but also genuinely enjoys working together. The result is a tight-knit group where trust, accountability, and mutual support drive success.

In 2018, the C Starr Team joined @properties | Christie’s International Real Estate. Caroline says this move enhanced her team’s ability to provide exceptional service and leverage top-tier resources for their clients.

One of the team’s most memorable moments involved assisting a client with Parkinson’s disease. Faced with the need to sell his home and relocate to a more accessible space, the C Starr Team went beyond preparing the property for sale: they found a buyer who empathized with the client’s unique circumstances. This collaborative effort resulted in a successful transaction that benefited both the buyer and seller.

“I couldn't be prouder of my team for their dedication and compassion in this situation. It demonstrated our unwavering commitment to serving our clients' best interests,” Caroline says.

This dedication to creating meaningful relationships extends to all their clients. The C Starr Team prides itself on its approachable, authentic style, ensuring that every interaction is seamless, supportive, and enjoyable. “We’re not just here to sell houses; we want to help clients find a place where they truly feel at home,” Caroline says.

As the real estate market continues to evolve, Caroline has embraced her role as a calming, steadying force for her clients. “I remind my team to “set the temperature”: be the thermostat, not the thermometer,” she shares. “We set the tone and create an environment where our clients feel supported, no matter the challenges.”

Caroline’s professional success is deeply connected to her personal life. Happily married to her high school sweetheart for over twenty-six years, she takes pride in their three grown children who are pursuing unique career paths—one is following in her footsteps as a commercial REALTOR®. Recently, Caroline and her husband experienced a transition in their own lives: they sold their family home and purchased a new one. “That process reminded me how crucial a REALTOR® is in guiding families through big changes,” she reflects.

To new REALTORS®, Caroline advises patience, focus, and consistency. “Choose a few new strategies to explore and give them a fair chance—avoid bouncing around from one thing to the next,” she says. “Understand that each business is unique, so find what works best for you. Seek out mentors and those who have achieved the success you are aiming for, gain insights from their experience, and adapt their strategies to fit your own business.”

Beyond real estate, Caroline dedicates herself to giving back. She serves on the advisory board for JOURNEYS | The Road Home, a nonprofit supporting the homeless, and on the Board of Trustees of St. Viator High School. “Being part of organizations that create lasting change is incredibly meaningful to me,” she says.

In her downtime, Caroline loves traveling, golfing, and enjoying a good glass of wine. Most recently, she visited Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but is eagerly anticipating her trip to Ireland, which will be one of deep personal significance. Five years ago, Caroline discovered that her birth parents and five adult siblings live in Ireland. “I’m adopted, and reconnecting with them has been such a remarkable experience,” she shares.

As someone who highly values relationships and dedication, real estate is more than a business to Caroline; it’s a way to inspire trust, foster relationships, and leave a lasting impact. By guiding clients through life’s milestones, nurturing her team’s growth, and contributing to her community, Caroline has built a career that’s centered on purpose, connection, and service.
