Lafayette Britto, an up-and-coming real estate agent at Nova Real Estate, is quickly making a name for himself in the real estate world in Central Florida. But that’s not all - he’s also a living example of positive change and sheer determination. 

His path is packed with amazing achievements and is pretty much a real-life motivational book.

Lafa was born and raised in Brazil and made the big move to the United States when he was just 10. His parents were tough cookies and that rubbed off on him. He dived into real estate because he wanted to make sure his mom and dad were set for life. Plus, he just loved the idea of making families super happy by finding them their perfect home. Before that, Lafa spent more than 10 years as a photographer - a skill that came in really handy when he jumped into property marketing.

But there’s more to Britto's story. When he weighed in at a whopping 440 lbs, his life changed at a wedding. A little kid, with the honesty only kids have, asked him, “Why is your belly so big?” That hit Lafa like a ton of bricks.  It was the moment he decided to change.

“I started eating better, hitting the gym and got the ball rolling that month. Facing this head-on showed me I can take on anything life chucks my way,” he says.

Lafa didn’t just shed 160 lbs; his whole life did a 180. His career took off, his friendships became stronger, and his self-confidence skyrocketed. This was also when things got romantic with his girlfriend, Laura.

In the challenging world of real estate, Lafa's got a killer combo: a great personality and a work ethic that doesn't quit. He’s all in, every day. He starts with a workout, meets clients, searches for properties, and makes sure everything’s on track.

One of the things that really makes Britto shine is how he balances life and work. “I put my girlfriend and family first unless work is super, super urgent. My clients get that my time matters too,” he says.

This balance, along with Lafa’s awesome approach to his work, has earned him some cool accolates, and helped him build a significant book of business in just a few short years.

What’s success to Lafa? Simple. “Being able to do what I want and making sure my parents don’t have to worry about money,” he tells us.

This guy’s not stopping anytime soon. He’s aiming for $15M in sales this year. And on the personal side, he’s got something sweet up his sleeve. “I’m planning to pop the question to Laura towards the end of the year,” he spills with a big smile.

Britto's a tech whiz, too - which is no surprise for a millennial. He’s a pro with his smartphone, camera, and social media (especially Instagram), which are ace cards in real estate.
