Darryl fondly reflects, “The real estate market was an unrecognizable industry by today’s standards. A time when smartphones, DocuSign and GPS were still concepts yet to be seen and, more interestingly, a time even before the internet. We spent our days with maps sprawled across the floor, plotting our routes from a list of homes we found in the DOS version of RMLS. There were no pictures and hardly any information making each home we toured practically a mystery. We learned the intricacies of the city and streets by map and our constant loops around town with clients in tow, practicing the art of small talk and growing relationships with each showing. When it came time to write the offer, we relied on handwritten, paper-copy forms with wet signatures picked up in person from each client. We raced to the listing agent’s brokerage, waiting in the lobby, shoulder-to-shoulder in suits with our competition, ready to make our offer presentation in person. Negotiating at the table until a deal was hashed out, face-to-face. Fax machines gave us a reprieve at times from the tedious in-person presentations, but we chugged along, making connections everywhere we went. Perhaps having to do things the ‘old school’ in-person way has helped to write this story. We had to rely on our grit and our determination in an ever-changing and bumpy market. We learned how to pivot, read the market, and stay fluid with the times. We rode the waves of down payment assistant programs in the early 2000s, the 2006 boom, and then the Market Crash of ’08, where we taught ourselves how to conquer foreclosures.”

I think many people see the volume of real estate we have been so fortunate to sell over the last 23 years and think we must have this giant team when in reality, it’s been a core group of “family.” I even look back and think, ‘How did we do this? How have we come this far?’ Each year we seem to break last year’s records, and 2022 was no exception, with 338 transactions sold and over 194 million in volume. I’ve often said we’re the most efficient team in real estate. It’s all about chemistry.
My team is truly my family in every sense of the word. Michael Brazie Jr was the first to join the ride in 2001, and Tyler Reel in 2004. I then met my now fiancé and teammate, Kelly Christian, and have the honor of working with my son Tre Bodle and daughter-in-law, Jadyn Bodle. Further, a long-time friend and teammate, Slavik Dezhnyuk, and some new youthful energy, Alec Kharitonov, round out our team. Although our pace keeps things moving at speeds that should make heads spin, our team, our family, still find joy and laughs in each day.”
