“I’m a big fan of Top Gun,” says Keith M. Gay, who served our country in the Air Force. He
decided to start his own business in June 2022, Wingman Junk Removal, which is veteran-
owned and operated. Maverick was released on May 27, 2022, and Keith launched his own
business a month later, resonating with Top Gun fans as they watched their own junk take flight
from their home or business.

Keith, a former property manager who worked in vacation rentals and condo complexes, found
that working for his family’s business was invaluable experience before starting his own
company. An entrepreneur at heart, Keith was able to use his knowledge and skills to provide

He jokes, “It was either landscaping or junk removal. Landscaping is seasonal so I chose this.”
After extensive training and consulting, he purchased his truck that is specifically designed for
junk removal as well as a dump trailer. He then started advertising his business on Google and
found that his services were warmly welcomed by the community.

Now they work six days a week and do as many bookings as possible. They have grown since
their inception. As Keith says, “We are slated to double or triple last year’s business this year.”

furniture, and catering to their clients’ requests. “I do what I can to accommodate people,” he
says.
