Finding Home

Growing up, Kayla Bazzle moved around — a lot. She was born in Beaufort, South Carolina,
but her father’s role in the military caused her family to move every three years. Packing up a
home and settling somewhere new became a well-trodden part of Kayla’s life. For all the
excitement of moving to a new place, there were also countless stressors — finding new
friends and community, the physical labor of packing and unpacking, and setting down new
roots.
The idea of home became meaningful to Kayla because she never had a consistent home.
Eventually, her family moved to Effingham County, just outside Savannah. If there is anywhere
that’s home for Kayla, it’s Savannah.
“Savannah — that's where my roots are,” Kayla says proudly. “My great-grandma and Nana
are here, so I'm a fifth-generation Savannahian.”
Kayla began her professional life as a pediatric dental assistant in 2017. After four years, she
decided she needed something more challenging. She was also driven to escape the nine-to-
five schedule she was locked into, so she turned her attention to real estate.
“In real estate, you earn as much as you work. The harder you work, the more you get paid, and
I’ve always been a hard worker,” Kayla explains. “It seemed to be a good fit.”
Kayla joined the Teresa Cowart Team at ReMax Accent in early 2021. She went on to close an
impressive 26 homes for $5 million in 2021, followed by 41 homes for $12 million in 2022.
Kayla credits her early success to her work ethic and likeability.
“My work ethic is the most important thing,” she says. “I'm pretty relentless. I go into the office
every day. I make my calls. I don’t leave until I reach my goal — every day. Coming from a nine-
to-five, I treat real estate like a nine-to-five, although it's not. Clients like working with me
because I'm very personable. Lastly, I’ve moved around a lot. I really know what it takes to
move. I know how much of a hassle it is. I get it. It’s a stressful time for sellers and
buyers, but I've done it so much that I can relieve the stress from them.”
Kayla’s ascent hasn't been without lessons learned. She’s had to improve her discipline, learn
how to market herself and overcome the challenge of being young. Instead of allowing her
youth to hinder her, Kayla uses it to her advantage, leveraging social media platforms like
Facebook and TikTok to generate leads and grow her brand.
“It’s definitely more difficult being young in the business because people automatically think I
don't have experience, although I have the same experience as other agents. But people look
at me and say, ‘She’s young and inexperienced’ — buyers, sellers, and other agents. That’s
something I have to overcome,” Kayla offers.
Kayla has some big goals for the next year. She aspires to close 50 homes in 2023 while
purchasing her first personal home in Effingham County. With two strong years already under
her belt, she’s excited about what the future holds.
“Every year is different. I'm excited to see how the market changes. It's so uncertain right now
with interest rates and everything, but I'm pretty excited to see how that goes. [I’m looking
forward to] helping more buyers and sellers.”
