Dana Carmel
Passion, Precision, and the Power of Community

Dana Carmel understands what it takes to succeed in Silicon Valley’s competitive luxury market. With a keen eye for branding and a deep passion for real estate, she has built a business that stands out — not just for its success, but for the personal touch she brings to every transaction.
Originally from the East Coast, Dana developed an entrepreneurial spirit early on. As a child, she was always coming up with creative ways to start businesses, from making and selling jewelry to organizing small ventures that tapped into her natural marketing instincts. Her fascination with real estate started young as well.
“I remember going on a class field trip to tour a home from the 1800s,” Dana recalls. “Walking through, I imagined how the house functioned back then — what life was like inside. I’ve always been curious about how people live in different spaces.”
Dana carried that entrepreneurial mindset into her college years at Cornell University, where she graduated in 1996 with a degree in marketing. She launched multiple small businesses, including Big Red Roses (named after Cornell’s “Big Red” nickname), a floral service catering to fraternities and sororities before big game weekends. She even created a Greek directory to help students connect before the days of cell phones. After college, she moved to New York City and worked in consulting before transitioning into online advertising and marketing, where she built a successful agency specializing in brand advertising and lead generation.
Life took Dana and her husband to California when he attended Stanford Business School, and they decided to make the Bay Area their home. While raising their three sons, she took on a major home remodel, acting as both project manager and designer. That hands-on experience deepened her passion for real estate, and friends began turning to her for advice on home design and market insights. Encouraged by her natural talent for the industry, she earned her real estate license in early 2020 — just as the world was shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What could have been a devastating challenge turned into an unexpected opportunity. With families spending more time at home, many began reassessing their living spaces, looking for homes that better fit their evolving needs. Dana’s deep community ties in Atherton and Menlo Park, coupled with her marketing expertise, allowed her to quickly gain traction. Friends trusted her to guide them through buying and selling homes, and in her first year, she closed four transactions. Since then, she has built her business into a powerhouse, achieving over $100 million in sales and closing 40 transactions last year alone.
What sets Dana apart in the industry is her ability to combine strategic brand marketing with a highly personalized approach. She understands that buying or selling a home is not just a financial decision but an emotional one. Her clients appreciate her attention to detail, proactive communication, and ability to anticipate their needs before they even articulate them.
“Real estate is such a personal journey,” she explains. “No two clients are the same, and I make it a priority to tailor my approach to each individual situation.”
One of Dana’s defining values is giving back to the community. Through her Make the Move program, she donates $1,500 per sale to the local public school Education Foundation, a cause close to her heart. “Strong schools make for strong communities,” she says. “I believe in investing in the future of our neighborhoods, and this is my way of contributing.”
Outside of real estate, Dana cherishes time with her family. Whether walking through her Atherton neighborhood, hiking the Stanford Dish, or traveling to explore different cultures and architectural styles, she finds inspiration everywhere.
Dana defines success as waking up excited for the day ahead, embracing new challenges, and knowing she’s making a meaningful impact on her clients and community. Her best advice?
“Stay true to yourself and your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, trust that feeling.”
Looking ahead, Dana envisions continued growth for the Dana Carmel Group at Represent Realty — not just in sales volume but in cultivating a team that embodies her values, prioritizing quality over quantity. She remains committed to serving her clients with the same passion that launched her career and looks forward to more opportunities to merge her love of real estate with her dedication to community impact.
For Dana Carmel, real estate isn’t just about transactions — it’s about transformation, relationships, and creating a legacy of trust and excellence.
