Mike Brown
Educators Realty Group - Keller Williams
As a professional who has the experience and training to help others achieve their dreams, you undoubtedly experience a special level of satisfaction from helping others reach the next positive milestone in their lives.
The same can be said for Mike Brown.
As Owner/President of Educators Realty Group with Keller Williams, Mike makes an undeniable difference for his team, area residents and the community.
“I really like helping change people’s lives. Educators Realty Group is a group of teachers who help people get to the next level,” Mike says.
"It means a lot when you have that person you're working with who has never bought and didn't think they could have that joy of homeownership."
Faith and Purpose
Mike’s journey in the business began when he earned his real estate license in March 2007.
“As I always say, I believe that God got me into real estate because I wasn’t looking for it. I was working for a music store and was on the road supporting the needs of band directors,” Mike remembers. “I realized that I wasn’t in a good financial spot and I found a correspondence course for real estate.”
Within 30 days, Mike had earned his license and he started his transition into the business — part-time at first as he continued working both jobs for a couple of years.
“Even though it was a challenging time during the economic downturn of the time, I was able sustain what I was doing because I had the other job,” he says. “Because of that, I was able to stay in and build while many others were dropping.”
Passion for the Profession
As he kept building his business, Mike’s love for his work mounted, as well.
“The best part to me is the feeling of seeing someone make a huge life transition. We are helping people go through one of the biggest transitions in life,” Mike says.
“If we can help them be informed and in control of the process, it’s very gratifying … helping them get their first home or make an investment. It’s the satisfaction of helping someone change their lives.”
Family Fulfillment
Away from work, Mike’s world is made even more fulfilling by his family, including his wife of five years, Becky, who works as a Nurse Manager.
“We have a wonderful relationship,” he says. “We share lessons with each other. There are things that she has learned through her work at the hospital that I’m able to learn from and apply to my work, and vice versa.”
Mike and Becky treasure time with their children. They each have two children from a prior relationship, and they’re thankful for their three sons-in-law, as well.
In their free time, Mike and Becky have a passion for traveling. In addition, they also own BrownTown Properties in Branson, Lake of the Ozarks and Destin, Florida, with a goal of expanding into the Orlando, Florida, area.
When it comes to making a difference in the community, Mike likes to give back. A portion of each deal is set aside and used to do good in the community and support events that Make God Smile.
Leading by Example
As Mike looks to the future, he takes a special level of pride in helping others learn and grow. Today, the Educators Realty Group team continues to grow through their contributions to their clients and community.
Mike smiles as he talks about his team. Clearly, he is very thankful to be surrounded by the team of professionals who also come from an educational background. They include Agent Hayley Fraser; Agent Jenni Pace; Agent Debbie Fisher; Director of Operations Cindy Matzat; and Communications Director, Anna Scott.
As he says, “Our team dynamic is amazing. Each of the members of the team are motivated, passionate, and very fun to be around.”
He shares some advice with others who are trying to get their start in the business.
“When you’re getting into the business, I think it’s very important to continue to ask questions of experienced agents,” Mike says. “As we look to the future, our goal is to add a couple additional agents by the end of the year. With that in mind, we take care to add the right people who make the right fit, because we have a pretty cool thing going.”
“Most of the experienced people in this business are there to help you learn. Most people have a mindset of abundance and want to see you succeed as they have.”
Those who know and work with Mike appreciate his lighthearted and approachable manner.
As he says, “I enjoy life and I try to be an optimistic, positive person. My approach is, let’s try to find a way to be positive and help each other in the process.”
Congratulations to Mike Brown and his team. Day by day they make a vital difference in the lives of their clients and community.
