MEGAN OWENS

Elevating the Experience

Seeing others grow and develop in their careers is something special to applaud because, as they continue to learn and grow, they help their clients achieve their goals. But that's just the start. They also enhance the image of the industry in the eyes of the public.

Megan Owens is one of those who represents the power of growth. She's a REALTOR® with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate. She was also the first local Omaha REALTOR® we featured five years ago.

Recently, Megan sat down with us to share her thoughts about her time in the industry since then. In the process, she shared the ways she elevates the experience for those around her.

Then and Now
When Megan first sat down to talk with Real Producers magazine five years ago, she was celebrating eight years in the business, having earned her license in March 2010.

"I had been working at a local golf course, where I got to know a successful agent in our industry. She hired me to be her assistant, and from there, I completely fell in love with the industry," Megan recalls. "I worked double duty at the golf course as I built my real estate business before I transitioned into my new role full-time."

Today, looking back at her first interview and story, she smiles as she thinks about the changes... The growth is the biggest thing she has experienced.

"I was super nervous during that first interview. At the same time, I was honored and humbled to be featured. Being featured is extremely out of my comfort zone, but I am happy to share my story in the hopes of inspiring other people in our industry. Over the past five years, I've learned a lot and have grown my business in an exponential way," Megan says.

"I feel like I have a lot more wisdom than I did five years ago. I strive to build a reputation that I can be proud of while continually working hard to take my business to the next level from a production standpoint. But more importantly, I want to build my business while being well-respected by other agents, industry professionals, and my clients."

Steady Commitment. Ongoing Success.
While the years have passed, one thing that has stayed steady is Megan's commitment to her clients and her drive to make a difference for those around her.

"My biggest competition is myself, and I want to be better year after year. My drive comes from wanting to live a life with no worries and being able to make a difference in the lives of others," she says.

Her productivity has continued at a remarkable and breathtaking pace. In fact, in 2022, she recorded an astounding total of 150 transactions, representing $46 million in sales volume. How does she do it?

"First, a big part of my success is my full-time, licensed assistant, Kylie Davis. She's the glue that holds everything together. I also recently hired a marketing manager who handles all of my social media, too, which has helped a ton," Megan explains. "We have good systems in place to help us navigate that level of business, plus we are extremely organized and diligent in creating a good experience for our clients. I'm pretty competitive with myself to be better than the year before too."

As part of that, Megan is a big believer in goal-setting. As she says, she guards against complacency and maintains her focus on always learning and growing forward. "I have my goals written down everywhere so that they are always in front of me and top of mind," she says. "I'm a huge believer in manifesting what you want and putting it out into the universe. I believe that the good comes back to you in more ways than you can ever dream of."

Example of Excellence
Away from work, Megan enjoys time spent with her family and friends. Another ongoing passion for her is contributing her time to others through volunteering, with nonprofits for children being among her favorites.

She also likes to help others find their own footing in the business, helping them get going in the right direction. "One piece of advice I give is to, first, find your why," she says. "Finding your why will remind you to keep going and not give up through all of the ups and downs. The second piece of advice I have is to be consistent and diligent in what you are doing on a daily basis; from there, the rest will fall into place."

Falling into place has most definitely been the case for Megan Owens ... a person who leads humbly by example.

"Real Producers is a great asset to our real estate community. When agents and industry professionals can come together, get to know each other and learn from one another, we all benefit," Megan explains. "When we can help each other to be better, we can provide a better level of service to our clients, which helps our industry as a whole. Real Producers is a great avenue to do that. Stacey brings all brokerages and agents together in a way that is hard to find anywhere else."

Along the way, Real Producers magazine has been proud to mark the success of Megan Owens and many others like you, who dedicate expertise and energy to help our community grow.
