ASHONTE THOMAS

Made to Last

Some have a will to succeed and to provide others with opportunity that cannot be denied. That power of achievement is something that Ashonte Thomas brings to all that she does. As a REALTOR® with eXp Realty, Ashonte has a spirit of contribution for her clients that is truly made to last.

“I love building relationships with my clients. As part of that, lifelong relationships are so important to me. It’s not just about the transaction; we help them through the process and then build upon that continued relationship through the years,” Ashonte says.

“I love design, and creating a space that is your own and making a house your home. I love helping people with that vision and helping them see the potential with homes that we go through,” Ashonte says.

Serving Those Who Serve
Ashonte has a strong niche market in her work each day — a high percentage of her business is with veterans and families in the armed services. She has her MRP certificate and explains that at least half of her business is military.

“I just got into it because we have a lot of friends who are involved with the military,” Ashonte says. “That’s been my cup of tea — helping military families as they are transitioning to and from Offutt.”

Moving Forward in Life
Ashonte is originally from Rochester, New York, and went to college at the University of Buffalo. She earned her MBA from Creighton. After coming of age and completing her collegiate career, she went on to work in sales with a marketing company.

In time, she transferred to Phoenix with the same company, helping the organization open an office there. While she was there, Ashonte met and fell in love with Erik Thomas, the man who would become her husband. After a year and a half, they made the decision to move back to Nebraska, where he was from.

“We have been here for 14 years. When we first moved here, I took a job with RJ Reynolds doing trade marketing for eight years before getting into real estate,” Ashonte remembers. “My transition into real estate came when we bought our second new house. I always liked houses and design, and I started my career as an assistant to a team at the encouragement of our REALTOR®. At that time, I thought I also wanted to sell. So I learned the ropes and got my license in 2019.”

Making Good Things Happen
Ashonte has built a strong reputation for results during her relatively short real estate career. In her first year in the business, in 2019, she recorded $6 million in sales volume.

Each year since, she has averaged between $10 million and $12 million in sales volume, with more than $12 million in 2022.

Family Fulfillment
Family is at the heart of life for Ashonte. She and Erik love spending time with their two children, 8-year-old son Russell and 7-year-old daughter Lyla.

Away from work, they enjoy time spent at their 15-acre property. “We love being in the country. We even have chickens on our land,” Ashonte smiles. “We love the small-town living in Syracuse.”

In addition, Ashonte and Erik enjoy supporting their children in their sports and activities, spending time outdoors, visiting with family and friends, and traveling. Ashonte also has a passion for exercising.

When it comes to giving back, Ashonte has been involved in supporting the efforts of the Teammates organization.

When you talk with Ashonte, you instantly understand her caring, thoughtful and genuine nature. You can see the way she dedicates herself to supporting the dreams of others and then draws on her talent and time to help them reach those goals. The spark she has for her work shines through … and surely is made to last.

“The reason I am doing what I am doing is driven by the fact that I just really want to continue to be able to use my passion for real estate to help others and to continue to build relationships with them,” Ashonte says with a warm smile. “That is very rewarding for me.”
