Luke Richmond and Steve Morgan

Servant Leaders

When Luke Richmond and Steve Morgan began discussions about how they wanted to conduct business (and life), it became clear that they were aligned personally, professionally and even spiritually. They think and talk in tandem, and it is not surprising that they have been able to establish their own franchise agency of EXIT Elevation Realty. For this duo, success is about helping people, doing the right things and creating happiness. Sure, they are mindful of production and solid finances, but it is vital for them to help others with integrity, and despite where they are having an impact, that mantra is the same.
Steve earned his degree in Physical Therapy and launched his professional career there, but in time he felt a little burned out. He switched to health care sales, which was helpful, but in 2019 his pivot to real estate saved the day. At first, he worked dual careers, but he realized quickly that he would have to devote all his efforts to real estate.
Luke’s degree was in Chemistry, and he applied it by working his way through the government ranks, spending twenty years in management. He had become interested in real estate in the early 1990s, and for a season, he worked in a local church and real estate. He had to bail on the latter for a time, but in 2012, he returned and earned his Broker’s License three years later. In April this year, he and Steve made EXIT Elevation Realty a reality.
Both men describe their work in real estate as “totally enjoyable.” Showing houses and finding the right one to make a family’s home and meet their needs drives these agents, and as Steve notes, “it is good to love what you do and never have to dread going to work.” Luke says that getting to know their clients personally is a real reward, and he has actually been asked to perform funerals, weddings and counseling sessions with clients of his real estate business.
One goal that Richmond and Morgan seek to fulfill is their concentration on the culture of EXIT Elevation Realty. People enjoy the team, how they perform their tasks and the fact that they do it with integrity. The pandemic changed the way we all do business, and that was OK, but the men miss the extended time they used to spend with clients, getting to know them and finding out what they wanted. “It is drifting back slowly,” says Luke, “but I want to get back to doing things in person too, not just digitally.”
Steve has been married to Debbie for 26 years, and they were college sweethearts. They have two children: Jonah (17), who serves as the drummer for the worship team at church and runs track and cross country, and Logan (12), who is active at church and enjoys soccer. Steve is an outdoor guy and enjoys many sports, like hunting, fishing and side-by-side riding. His favorite activity (hands down) is Friday night — date night, though.
Luke and Belinda, who works in the agency, too, have been married for 33 years, and they met in college. They have a son, Josh (30 — wife, Andrea), who lives in Pittsburgh, and they love to travel to different places to absorb as many different experiences as possible. Both Luke and Steve serve on the staff of their local churches, and they cannot envision their lives without their work in ministry.
Steve and Luke surround themselves with agents who are coachable and trainable and who have integrity. Luke tells other agents to be the source of the source but not the source — challenging agents to give resources without being the ultimate authority on things. Their primary motivation is to serve others, but as Steve quotes Zig Ziglar, “Money is not everything, but it ranks up there with oxygen.”
Going forward, this tag team will continue to do what they have always done: serve others by doing the right things and most of all, putting God first. They have found great success in their partnership, as each one leverages the strengths of the other, and they keep working on gelling their personalities to create the right environment. It is not hard to predict that EXIT Elevation Realty will continue to elevate. Sorry, it had to be said!
