Rising Star: Emily Brown Valenti

"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." — Steve Jobs.

I grew up in the Eastern Panhandle, Pendleton County, WV. It is a gorgeous part of the state near the Virginia border. I grew up in a large family. There are seven of us total, four girls and three boys. Needless to say, we kept my parents on their toes growing up. I ended up living in upstate NY before ending up in Teays Valley. I've lived in the area for almost 10 years. I was a stay-at-home mother, taking care of two children, when I listed my home and was planning to move to Florida. There's no way to describe the instant connection I had with the REALTOR® who listed my home. I felt instantly drawn to her and couldn't shake the feeling. The feeling of being inspired to become an agent. It was a turning point in my life. I started researching how to get my license, signed up, and then COVID-19 hit. I was halfway through my class and had two kids home from school. Adding "teacher" to my job experience was fun! My daughter, Zara, was starting elementary school, and my son, Brennan, was starting middle school. I never lost focus during that time and ended up completing my class — I took the test a couple of months later and became a licensed agent!

"There is no right time ... there is just time and what you choose to do with it."

What Others Say
"From the first day I met Emily, we immediately clicked. Fun fact! Both of our daughters are named Zara!

Emily reminds me a lot of myself. She came into real estate anxious to learn, extremely enthusiastic and has a passion for marketing like I do. The first time I took her on an appointment with me, she and I cleaned and staged a home to get it ready for photographs. I'm not sure if she knew what she was getting herself into when she came to learn real estate and was running a vacuum, but she was a good sport and realized quickly you do what you can to make sure a home shows perfectly even if the seller is not willing to do it themselves.

Emily is also very thoughtful of my time mentoring her. She is always appreciative of those willing to help her to grow her business."

— Kim Jarrouj, REALTOR®

“I met Emily a few years ago when she called me to list her home. We instantly became friends, and she was a pleasure throughout the process! Emily’s success is no surprise to me as she is very detailed in everything she does. Even though it had been a few years since we had interacted, once I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Emily was one of the first to send me an encouraging gift!

The sky’s the limit for Emily, and I’m so excited to watch her soar!”
